Announces the Arrest of Texas
Department Of Public Safety Top Ten Sex Offender

Alaska |

At
approximately 7:30 pm on January 10th the Joint East Texas Fugitive
Task Force, Sherman, Texas received word from the Alaska Fugitive
Task Force that Vineyard had been apprehended. Vineyard was
apprehended at his place of employment in the Alyeska Resort of
Girdwood, Alaska without incident.
Vineyard has been wanted since January 2, 2006 by the State of Texas
for parole warrants based on Burglary of a Habitation and Aggravated
Robbery. Vineyard and an accomplice had robbed the victim using a
9mm pistol. Vineyard faces the additional charges on Harris County
Texas indictment of aggravated sexual assault of a child under the
age of 14, date of warrant 01/07/2006. Vineyard had fled the state
of Texas upon hearing of the sexual assault charges.
It was determined by the investigating Deputy U.S. Marshals that
Vineyard had been a transient worker between the Girdwood, Alaska
and Fairbanks, Alaska areas for the past two years, and that his
ability to maintain his fugitive status was enhanced by having
utilized an alternate identity, to include an alternate date of
birth. Deputy U.S. Marshals in the Sherman and Fairbanks offices had
been searching for Vineyard since 11/27/2007 when investigators with
the Texas Department of Public Safety asked for assistance.
Vineyard was arrested by a team consisting of a Deputy U.S. Marshal
assigned to the Anchorage, Alaska office and his Anchorage Police
Department State Task Force Officer partner. He will be extradited
to Harris County, Texas. |
