Arrest of Bank Robbery Suspect
Antonio Logan |
|
The United States Marshals Service has
arrested a 45-year-old Wilmington man who was wanted for a bank
robbery that occurred in Wilmington in September 2007. Antonio Logan
previously of the 400 block of Townsend Street in Wilmington was
wanted by Wilmington Police for the robbery of Delaware National
Bank located at 600 S. Harrison Street, Wilmington on September 12,
2007.
Detectives from Wilmington Police and the United States Marshals
First State Fugitive Task Force have been searching for Logan since
the robbery. The investigation looking for Logan led detectives to
the Philadelphia area. The fugitive task force conducted
surveillance in North Philadelphia. At approximately 7:45 am on
today’s date, deputy marshals saw the defendant coming out of a
shelter on the corner of N. Broad Street and Ridge Avenue. He was
arrested without incident
The defendant waived extradition from Philadelphia and is facing the
bank robbery charges in Delaware.
The United States Marshals Service First State Fugitive Task Force
is comprised of members of the Marshals Service, Delaware State
Police, Delaware State Probation and Parole, New Castle County and
Wilmington Police Departments. The state and local officers were
sworn in as special deputy U.S. Marshals in order to provide them
with broader jurisdictional authority. This is a valuable tool for
law enforcement in Delaware because of the ability of a fugitive to
flee the state in a short period of time. |
