Major Case Fugitive Surrenders

On Sept. 18, 2007, USMS Major Case Fugitive, Pedro Pete Hernandez surrendered to law enforcement at an International Port of Entry (POE) in Laredo, TX.  Hernandez was wanted by the City of Waco Police Dept. for Homicide and the USMS for Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution.

In May 2004, Hernandez shot and killed his girlfriend in front of her 3-year old son.  He then took the body and the child to a local Emergency Room and subsequently fled to Mexico.  Over the past several years, attempts were made to detain Hernandez  in Mexico with negative results.  When Hernandez was taken into custody by member of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force he stated “I am tired of running.”  He is awaiting extradition to Waco.
