LONE STAR FUGITIVE TASK FORCE ARRESTS THOSE ACCUSED IN FIRST MURDER
IN OVER A DECADE IN CONVERSE, TEXAS
San
Antonio – Adrian Green and
Darren Darden’s flight ended on a busy
Beaumont Street this afternoon. Two United States Marshals Service
led Fugitive Task Forces partnered together to arrest both Green and
Darden.
At approximately 12:45 a.m. on Monday April 9, 2007, two men
approached Brandon Scott and his girlfriend in the parking lot of
the Converse Wal-Mart and asked him about purchasing Scott’s tire
rims on his vehicle. For an unknown reason, the men opened fire on
Scott striking him once with a 9mm weapon. Brandon Scott was
transported to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio where he
died from the gunshot. The Converse Police Department developed two
suspects and arrest warrants were obtained for Adrian Lamont Green
and Darren Wayne Darden. The Converse Police Department then reached
out for assistance from the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. Task
Force members developed information that placed the two suspects in
the Beaumont, Texas area. Task Force members then traveled to
Beaumont and paired up with the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task
Force. Surveillance was established and the two men were spotted in
a vehicle near the Parkland Mall. Deputy United States Marshals
quickly descended upon the vehicle and arrested the two suspects
without incident.
The United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas
LaFayette Collins said, “The quality detective work done by the
Converse Police Department along with 215 years of fugitive hunting
experience by the United States Marshals Service led to the quick
