UNITED STATES MARSHALS SERVICE ARRESTS
FREDRAL LATELL SHADE
Midland,
TX - Fredral Latell Shade is alleged to be one of the leaders of
multi-defendant crack cocaine distribution ring in the Permian
Basin. Since his indictment on October 25, 2006, Shade has been on
the run from law enforcement authorities. On Friday January 12,
2006, the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, led by the United States
Marshals Service in the Western District of Texas, tracked Shade to
a residence in Grand Prairie, Texas. The Lone Star Fugitive Task
Force contacted the Dallas/Ft. Worth Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (DFW FAST), led by
the United States Marshals Service in the Northern District of
Texas, who arrested Shade without incident.
The Odessa Police Department, Narcotics Division, presented the case
to the United States Attorney’s Office in Midland where Fredral
Latell Shade and numerous other defendants were indicted by a
federal grand jury on October 25, 2006. On that same day, the Odessa
Police Department, a member agency of the Lone Star Fugitive Task
Force, requested assistance from the United States Marshals Service
in the apprehension of Shade.
Lone Star Fugitive Task Force investigators were able to track Shade
to several locations in Texas and developed information late Friday
that he was in Grand Prairie. Investigators with the Fort Worth
Division of the DFW FAST contacted the Grand Prairie Police
Department and were able to arrest Shade without incident.
United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas, LaFayette
Collins, stated, “The purpose of the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force
is to combine the talents of local law enforcement agencies with the
resources of the United States Marshals Service and its partnering
federal law enforcement agencies. Shade’s arrest is a direct result
of that partnership.”
