Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force
Arrests Violent Fugitive |
|
Bonham, TX - Jody Paul Sadler had
recently escaped from law enforcement after a high speed chase in
which he held a gun to the drivers head to force her to attempt to
elude officers. Sadler then ran on foot through a wooded area to
escape. At approximately 6:30 pm on Monday evening, July 23rd,
members of the Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force arrested Sadler
at a residence in Bonham, Texas.
Sadler has a history of violence and drug charges. At the time of
his arrest a substance believed to be methamphetamine and a loaded
Glock handgun with seven loaded magazines were found. Sadler is a
convicted felon and will be charged with possession of narcotics and
felon in possession of a firearm. United States Marshals were
looking for Sadler because of a federal arrest warrant for
“Conspiracy to posses with the intent to manufacture and distribute
methamphetamine”.
The Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force is led by the United States
Marshals Service and consists of state, local and federal agencies
to coordinate resources and investigative efforts to bring fugitives
to justice. In this case the arrest of Sadler was possible because
of the team work between Fannin County Sheriff’s Department, the
Bonham Police Department and the United States Marshals Service of
the Eastern District of Texas.
John Moore, United States Marshal for the Eastern District of Texas
said, “The coordinated effort of all law enforcement to bring
dangerous criminals to justice ensures that the streets and
neighborhoods of Texas are a safer place to raise our children”. |
