COLUMBIA, SC - Members of Operation Intercept located and apprehended Norton Lionel Byrd, Jr. today. Byrd was the subject of (2) Assault and Battery with Intent to Kill warrants from Chesterfield County. Byrd is alleged to have stabbed two patrons of Shirley’s Lounge in Society Hill on April 18th. He was booked into the Darlington County Detention Center awaiting court proceedings.

In announcing the arrest, United States Marshal Johnny Mack Brown said, “ As we approached, Byrd initially ran toward the rear of the residence but eventually was taken into custody peacefully. We also recovered a small quantity of suspected crack cocaine.”
