New Roads Murder Suspect Arrested in Dallas

Dallas, TX - A three month search for the most wanted man in Point Coupee Parish came to an end this morning at a Dallas apartment complex. A U.S. Marshals Service Task Force based in Dallas located Brandon Brue, 24, of New Roads, hiding behind a couch at the Murdeaux Villas Apartments.

Brue is wanted in the connection with the murder of his ex-wife and the attempted murder of another man. The Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force, working with the Point Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office, has been searching for Brue since the June 6th shooting incident. During the investigation, investigators developed information that Brue was hiding out with friends at the Dallas apartments. Task Force investigators here requested assistance from the Task Force in Dallas, who ultimately arrested Brue. Brue was booked into a Dallas jail awaiting extradition back to New Roads.

“This joint investigation was very intensive and thorough. The investigators from Point Coupee and our task force followed every lead and left no stone unturned. Today this fugitives luck ran out and his time behind bars began.” said U.S. Marshal Carey Jenkins.

The Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force, coordinated by the U.S. Marshals Service, is a multi-agency task force that targets persons wanted for violent crimes, narcotic offenses, and sex offenders in the Capitol area and surrounding Parishes. Contributing agencies are the East and West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Offices, the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, and the Louisiana State Probation and Parole.
