Arrest of Waymond Wright

The U.S. Marshals First State Fugitive Task Force with assistance from the New Castle County Police Department arrested Waymond Wright, 34 years old, at 11:30 am on July 20, 2007. Wright was wanted on an outstanding strong armed robbery warrant that was just issued yesterday, July 19, 2007 in Volusia County, Florida. The robbery occurred on July 14, 2007 in Volusia County.

During the evening of July 19, 2007, the Volusia County Sheriff’s Department contacted the New Castle County Police Department and requested their assistance in locating Wright in New Castle, Delaware. After a brief investigation and surveillance, Wright was located at his family’s residence at 31 Dallas Road in the Simonds Gardens Section of New Castle by Task Force Officers from the U.S. Marshals Service and New Castle County Police Department. He was arrested without incident.

Wright was immediately transported to the New Castle County Police Department for his arraignment and extradition hearing pending his return to Florida.
