Feb. 23, 2006 EcoDeals.org hosts free green-building workshop March 1 at Environmental Home Center Spring is the traditional kick-off of the home improvement project
season, and would-be home improvers this year can learn about green
building materials for environmentally friendly construction at
a free workshop, sponsored by King County and the
Environmental Home Center (EHC) in Seattle.
The workshop is part of the launch of EcoDeals.org, a Web site
hosted by King County Solid Waste Division that shows King County
residents how to save money by purchasing products that are environmentally
sound. Along with building supplies, EcoDeals.org provides information
about eco-friendly office supplies, clothing, electronics, automotive
materials and more.
The workshop, "Green Materials 101," is set for noon
in the EHC showroom and will be led by Matt Freeman-Gleason, founder
of EHC, who will provide an overview of the green-building process
as it relates to the social, economic and environmental elements
of sustainability. Freeman-Gleason will also demonstrate green materials
that contribute to better indoor air quality, stronger communities
and a healthier planet.
For more information or to RSVP for the workshop, contact Tessa
Maxcy at 206-315-1930.
The EHC showroom is located at 4121 1st Ave. S., in Seattle. A
