WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Lois Capps issued the following statement regarding today’s Senate vote on immigration reform legislation.
“I am disappointed with today’s vote. Our immigration system is broken and we need to enact comprehensive reform. It is unfortunate that President Bush wasn't able to convince more than a quarter of the Republican Senators to support this much needed legislation. I hope that this isn’t the end of the line for immigration reform legislation in the Senate.”
