Joint Federal Interagency Sedimentation Conferences
And
Federal Interagency Hydrologic Modeling Conferences

The Federal Interagency Sedimentation Conferences (FISC) began in 1947, and the Federal Interagency Hydrologic modeling Conferences began in 1998. Typically, several years elapse between conferences. Most recently, the two conferences held a combined session at Reno, Nevada, in 2006. These highly successful conferences have together produced more than 1,800 papers, many of which are available on line from the U.S. Geological Survey.

The Joint Conference provides Federal and non-Federal scientists and managers from various disciplines the opportunity to discuss recent accomplishments and progress in research and on technical developments in the physical, chemical, and biological aspects of sedimentation and the development and use of models addressing surface water quality and quantity issues. The Joint Conference follows a mixed set of formats including formal presentations, poster sessions, mini-workshops, and model demonstrations. Various field trips and short course occur before and after each conference.
