WASHINGTON D.C. – Congresswoman Lois Capps today issued the following statement regarding the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) decision to add the former Halaco Engineering Company site in Oxnard, California to the Superfund program’s National Priorities List (NPL).
“I am pleased that the Environmental Protection Agency is adding the Halaco Engineering site to the National Priorities List of Superfund sites. Now that it's listed on the NPL, it's critical that the EPA move quickly to clean up this contaminated site to ensure the safety of the families living in Oxnard. Protecting the health of these families is my highest priority and I will continue make sure that this site is cleaned up in a comprehensive and timely manner.”
