Subject content: Provides detailed sample population and housing characteristics data repeated for a maximum of 38 race, Spanish-origin, and/or ancestry categories, with the exception of MCDs and CCDs of 2,500 or less population. For these smaller MCDs and CCDs data are repeated for six specified race and/or Spanish-origin categories.
Population items tabulated include household relationship, sex, race, age, marital status, Spanish origin, school enrollment, years of school completed, nativity, citizenship and year of immigration, language spoke at home and ability to speak English, ancestry, residence in 1975, labor force status in 1979, veteran status and period of service, and more.
Household items tabulated include number of units at address, complete plumbing facilities, number of rooms, tenure (owner/renter occupied), vacancy status, value, contract rent, units in structure, stories in structure, year structure built, source of water, sewage disposal, heating equipment, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, telephones in housing unit, and more.
Geography: States, standard consolidated statistical areas, standard metropolitan statistical areas, urbanized areas, counties, minor civil division (MCD) or census county divisions (CCD), places of 2,500 or more population, American Indian reservations and their county components, and Alaska Native villages and their county components. NOTE: Does not include Puerto Rico.
File format & Software: Flat ASCII, no software; Files are compressed and can be unzipped using standard unzipping software such as that found at www.pkware.com (etc.).
