Stephen Musolino Named HPS Fellow

Stephen Musolino a certified health physicist in the Non-proliferation and National Security Department (NNS), has been elected a Fellow of the Health Physics Society (HPS).

NNSD's Aleksey Bolotnikov Wins IEEE's Charles Hirsch Award

Aleksey Bolotnikov, an associate physicist in the Nonproliferation & National Security Department, has been named the 2006 recipient of the Charles Hirsch Award, which is given annually to a member of the Long Island Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).

Vanier to talk on New Tools for Countering Nuclear Terrorism

Peter Vanier Honored with BNL FY2006 Award

Physicist, Peter Vanier leads the Advanced Radiation Detector group in the Detector Development and Testing Division of the Nonproliferation and National Security Department.  He is recognized for outstanding contributions in demonstrating proof of principle of three advanced radiation detector concepts for nonproliferation and homeland security applications.

Joseph P. Indusi Elected Fellow of the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management

Joseph P. Indusi, Chair of the Nonproliferation and National Security Department at the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory, has been elected a Fellow of the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management. The institute provides leadership and professional development in nuclear materials management for a worldwide community of professionals in the field. Currently, it has over 900 members, of which about three percent are Fellows.

Brookhaven Researchers Develop Counterterror Technologies

NEW YORK, NY — Researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory are developing counterterrorism technologies to help protect the United States from would-be terrorists wielding nuclear weapons, dirty bombs, toxic chemicals, or explosives.
