Chapter 35), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Secretariat has submitted to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) a request to review and approve an extension of a currently approved information collection requirement concerning Drug-Free Workplace. A request for public comments was published at 63 FR 71097, December 23, 1998. No comments were received. DATES: Comments may be submitted on or before April 15, 1999. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: A. Purpose The contract clause at FAR 52.223-6 requires (1) contract employees to notify their employer of any criminal drug statute conviction for a violation occurring in the workplace; and (2) Government contractors, after receiving notice of such conviction, to notify the contracting officer. The information provided to the Government is used to determine contractor compliance with the statutory requirements to maintain a drug-free workplace. B. Annual Reporting Burden Public reporting burden for this collection of information is estimated to average .17 hours per response, including the time for reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the collection of information. The annual reporting burden is estimated as follows: Respondents, 600; responses per respondent, 1; total annual responses, 600; preparation hours per response, .17; and total response burden hours, 102.
