The request was received on September 16, 1999, by the United States Information Agency. It seeks U.S. import restrictions on categories of archaeological material in stone, metal, ceramic, bone, and glass, and wall paintings from the 5th millennium B.C. to the 5th c. A.D. In accordance with provisions of the Convention on Cultural Property Implementation Act (19 U.S.C. 2602 and 2603), the request will be reviewed by the Cultural Property Advisory Committee which will report on its findings and recommendations thereunder.
