Notice is hereby given that on May 17, 1999 a proposed Consent Decree (``Decree'') in United States v. HF Bar Ranch, Civil Action No. 98 CV 158J, was lodged with the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming. The United States filed this action pursuant to Section 1414(b) and (g) of the Safe Drinking Water Act, 42 U.S.C. 300g- 3(b) and (g), seeking injunctive relief and civil penalties for the Defendant's violations of the Safe Drinking Water Act and EPA's National Primary Drinking Water regulations at its guest Ranch located in Saddlestring, Wyoming. The proposed Consent Decree requires the Defendants to pay a civil penalty of $15,000 for its violations of the Act. Subsequent to the filing of the Complaint, the HF Bar Branch came into compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act and EPA's implementing regulations, making additional injunctive relief unnecessary. The Department of Justice will receive for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of this publication comments relating to the Decree. Comments should be addressed to the Assistant Attorney General of the Environment and Natural Resources Division, Department of Justice Washington, DC 20530, and should refer to, United States v. HF Bar Ranch, Civil Action No. 98 CV 158J, and D.J. Ref. #90-5-1-1-4398.
