ACTION: Notice of public meeting. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY: The New England Fishery Management Council (Council) will hold a joint public meeting of its Research Steering and Experimental Fisheries Committee on July 29, 1999 to consider actions affecting New England fisheries in the exclusive economic zone (EEZ). Recommendations from this groups will be brought to the full Council for formal consideration and action, if appropriate. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: The committee will establish procedures, approve projects and forward recommendations concerning the one percent Total Allowable Catch (TAC) set-aside earmarked for sea scallop fishery research. Although other issues not contained in this agenda may come before this group for discussion, in accordance with the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, those issues may not be the subject of formal action during this meeting.
