Description: The major purpose of the information collection requirements in the standard on Derricks (29 CFR 1910.181 (g)(1) and (g)(3) are to provide information for properly maintaining derricks and, therefore, to ensure safe operating conditions for employees. Specifically, employers must establish certification records to demonstrate that derrick inspections comply with the requirements specified in the standard. Ira L.
