A special resource study is used by the National Park Service to evaluate a resource for national significance and to assess its suitability and feasibility for possible federal designation and further National Park Service involvement. Based on the results of this assessment, the study presents a range of possible management alternatives. The draft special resource study of the Lake Champlain Valley is available for review at most local libraries throughout the Lake Champlain region of New York and Vermont.
