ACTION: Notice; Announcement of OMB approval of information collection requirement. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- SUMMARY: The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is announcing that OMB approved the collections of information found in the standard on Permit-Required Confined Spaces for General Industry (29 CFR 1910.146) under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA-95). This document announces the OMB approval number and expiration date. DATES: October 22, 1999. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: In the Federal Register of April 16, 1999 (64 FR 18938), the Agency announced its intent to request approval from OMB for information collection requirements contained in the standard on Permit-Required Confined Spaces for General Industry (29 CFR 1910.146). OSHA made this request in response to 5 CFR 1320.5(b), which states that the Agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to comply with, a collection of information requirement unless OMB approves the information collection requirement and assigns a control number to the approved requirement. In accordance with PRA-95 (44 U.S.C. 3501-3520), OMB approved the information collection requirements and assigned OMB control number 1228-0203 to the approved requirements. The approval expires on August 31, 2002. Authority and Signature Charles N. Jeffress, Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health, directed the preparation of this notice.
