Moller-Maersk Line for an Exemption From the Notice Requirement of 46 CFR 530.9; Notice of Filing of Petition Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 16 of the Shipping Act of 1984, 46 U.S.C. app. Sec. 1715, A.P. Moller-Maersk Line (``Petitioner'') has petitioned for an exemption to the notice requirements of 46 CFR 530.9. Petitioner states it soon will acquire the international liner business of Sea-Land Service, Inc., and will operate under the name A.P. MOLLER-MAERSK SEA-LAND. As a result, Petitioner states that approximately 3,000 existing service contracts will be affected by the acquisition and name change. Petitioner requests an exemption from the requirement to file separate electronic notices of assignment for each service contract, and asks instead that it be permitted to file a single notice listing all of the service contracts that are assigned to it in whole or in part. In order for the Commission to make a thorough evaluation of the petition for exemption, interested persons are requested to submit views or arguments in reply to the petition no later than November 24, 1999. Replies shall consist of an original and 15 copies, be directed to the Secretary, Federal Maritime Commission, Washington, D.C. 20573- 0001, and be served on counsel for Petitioner, Wayne R.
