DoD uses this information to (1) evaluate offers, (2) determine which offeror to select for contract award, and (3) determine whether the offered price is fair and reasonable. DoD also uses this information in determining whether to furnish precious metals as Government-furnished material; and whether to trade in existing personal property towards the purchase of new items.
