    In accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (Pub. L. 92-
463, as amended), the National Science Foundation announces the 
following meeting.

    Name: Advisory Panel for Physiology and Ethology (1160).
    Date and Time: February 17-19, 1999.
    Place: National Science Foundation, 4201 Wilson Boulevard, 
Arlington, VA 22330, Room 340.
    Type of Meeting: Part-Open.

    Purpose of Meeting: To provide advice and recommendations 
concerning proposals submitted to NSF for financial support.
    Agenda: Open Session: February 19, 1999, 10 am-11 am--discussion 
on research trends, opportunities and assessment procedures in 
Physiology and Ethology.
    Closed Session: February 17, 1999, 8:30 am-5:00 pm, February 18, 
1999, 8:30 am-6:00 pm, February 19, 1999, 8:30 am-10am and 11 am-
5:00 pm.
    Reason for Closing: The proposals being reviewed include 
information of a proprietary or confidential nature, including 
technical information; financial data such as salaries, and personal 
information concerning individuals associated with the proposals. 
These matters are exempt under the 5 U.S.C. 552b(c), (4) and (6) of 
the Government in the Sunshine Act.
