The applicant requests authorization to take (capture, identify, release, and retain selected voucher specimens for taxonomic research) the threatened leopard darter, Percina pantherina, and Arkansas fatmucket, Lampsilis powelli; and the endangered Ouachita rock- pocketbook, Arkansia wheeleri, pink mucket pearlymussel, Lampsilis abrupta, speckled pocketbook, Lampsilis streckeri, and winged mapleleaf mussel, Quadrula fragosa, throughout the species' ranges in Arkansas and Oklahoma for the purpose of enhancement of survival of the species. The applicant requests authorization to take (capture and retain for captiv propagation) fourteen species of threatened and endangered fish native to the southern Appalachian region and the Atlantic coastal plain in North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama.
