PRT-005736 Applicant: The Wildlife Conservation Society's Bronx Zoo/Wildlife Conservation Park, Bronx, New York The applicant requests a permit to import four male and six female proboscis monkeys (Nasalis larvatus) from the Surabaya Zoo, Surabaya, Java, Indonesia. These animals were captive born at the zoo or rescued from a recent forest fire. The import is for the purpose of enhancement of the survival of the species through the development of a cooperative breeding program.
