(``the Act''), the National Shipbuilding Research Program (``NSRP'') has filed written notifications simultaneously with the Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission disclosing (1) the identities of the parties and (2) the nature and objectives of the venture. The notifications were filed for the purpose of invoking the Act's provisions limiting the recovery of antitrust plaintiffs to actual damages under specified circumstances. Pursuant to Section 6(b) of the Act, the identities of the parties are Atlantic Marine Holding Company, Jacksonville, FL; Avondale Industries, Incorporated, New Orleans, LA; Bath Iron Works Corporation, Bath, ME; Electric Boat Corporation, Groton, CT; Halter Marine, Incorporated, Gulfport, MS; Ingalls Shipbulding, Incorporated, Pascaguala, MS; National Steel and Shipbuilding Company, San Diego, CA; Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, Newport News, VA; and Todd Pacific Shipyard Corporation, Seattle, WA. The nature and objectives of the venture are the utilization of complementary research interest, talent and experience to obtain, manage and focus national shipbuilding funding on technologies to reduce costs to the United States Navy and/ or promote United States international shipbulding competitiveness.
