Task 1b Meeting on Icing Terminology

AGENCY: Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), DOT.

ACTION: Notice of public meeting.

SUMMARY: This notice announces a public meeting of the FAA's task 1b 
team to discuss the FAA's proposed changes to current icing terminology 
as well as the FAA's proposal to include a table of icing effects and 
changes to the pilot reporting format in the Aeronautical Information 
Manual (AIM).

DATES: July 28-29, 1999, at 9 a.m.

Rosslyn, 1325 Wilson Blvd. Arlington, VA.

    The agenda will include:
    <bullet> Opening remarks.
    <bullet> Discussion of the FAA proposed changes to icing 
terminology and the Aeronautical Information Manual.
    Attendance is open to the public, but will be limited to space 
available. The public must make arrangements by July 26, 1999, to 
present oral statements at the meeting. Written statements may be 
presented to the task 1b team any time by providing 16 copies at the 
meeting or to Dan Meier at the Federal Aviation Administration, AFS-
220, 800 Independence Ave., SW, or via FAX at (202) 267-5229.
