OMB Control Number: 2900-0216. Type of Review: Reinstatement, without change, of a previously approved collection for which approval has expired. Abstract: The form is used to file a claim for accrued benefits available at the time of a veteran's death. The information is used by VA to determine the appropriate claimant eligible for accrued benefits. Without the information provided on VA Form 21-601, it would not be possible for VA to obtain the information needed to make a determination and reimburse a claimant. An agency may not conduct or sponsor, and a person is not required to respond to a collection of information unless it displays a currently valid OMB control number. The Federal Register Notice with a 60-day comment period soliciting comments on this collection of information was published on November 6, 1998 at page 60047. Affected Public: Individuals or households--Business or other for- profit. Estimated Annual Burden: 1,875 hours. Estimated Average Burden Per Respondent: 30 minutes.
