    In accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (Pub. L. 92-
463, as amended), the National Science Foundation (NSF) announces the 
following meeting.

    Name: Advisory Panel for Animal Behavior (#1160).
    Date and Time: April 22-24, 1999, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

    Type of Meeting: Part-Open.

    Agenda: Open Session: April 23, 1999, 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.--
discussion on research trends, opportunities and assessment 
procedures in Animal Behavior.
    Closed Session: April 22, 1999, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m., April 23, 
1999, 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and April 
24, 1999, 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. To review and evaluate Animal Behavior 
proposals as part of the selection process for awards.
    Reason for Closing: The proposals being reviewed include 
information of a proprietary or confidential nature, including 
technical information; financial data, such as salaries; and 
personal information concerning individuals associated with the 
proposals. These matters are exempt under 5 U.S.C. 552b(c), (4) and 
(6) of the Government in the Sunshine Act.
