Take notice that on July 28, 1998, DePere Energy Marketing, Inc. (DePere) tendered for filing, pursuant to Rule 205, 18 CFR 385.205, an amendment to its notice of change of circumstances filed on May 6, 1998, with respect to its original petition for waivers and blanket approvals under various regulations of the Commission and the order accepting its FERC Electric Rate Schedule No. 1 previously issued by the Commission. DePere reports that it is no longer an affiliate of GPU, Inc., a public utility holding company and the parent company of Jersey Central Power & Light Company, Metropolitan Edison Company and Pennsylvania Electric Company. GPU, Inc. no longer has any ownership interest in DePere. DePere is 100% owned by Michael Polsky, an individual, through his affiliate Polsky Energy Company. Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should file a motion to intervene or protest with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, NE, Washington, DC 20426, in accordance with Rules 211 and 214 of the Commission's Rules of Practice and Procedure (18 CFR 385.211 and 18 CFR 385.214). All such motions and protests should be filed on or before August 17, 1998. Protests will be considered by the Commission to determine the appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to the proceedings.
