The operation is located in Yosemite Valley in close proximity to the park's Visitor Center. The operation consists of the sale of photographic and art supplies and equipment, works of art, publications and handicraft items. The operation is year-round with the peak season during the summer months. The average visitation to the park is approximately 4 million annually. The annual gross receipts over the last 5 years has averaged about $2 million. Staffing for the operation is 12-20 people. Limited employee housing is available on site. The new contract will be for five (5) years beginning October 1,1998. There is an existing concessioner which has operated satisfactorily under the existing contract and has a right of preference in renewal.
