Take notice that on November 17, 1998, Northwest Alaskan Pipeline Company (Northwest Alaskan), tendered for filing as part of its FERC Gas Tariff, Original Volume No. 2, Forth-Third Revised Sheet No. 5, with an effective date of January 1, 1999. Northwest Alaskan states that it is submitting Forty-Third Revised Sheet No. 5, reflecting a decrease in total demand charges for Canadian gas purchased by Northwest Alaskan from Pan-Alberta Gas Ltd. (Pan- Alberta) and resold to Pan-Alberta Gas (U.S.), Inc. (PAG-US) under Rate Schedules X-1, and PIT under Rate Schedule X-4. Northwest Alaskan states that Forty-Third Revised Sheet No. 5, reflects an increase in total demand charges for Canadian gas resold to PAG-US under Rate Schedules X-2 and X-3. Northwest Alaskan states that it is submitting Forty-Third Revised Sheet No. 5, pursuant to the provisions of the amended purchase agreements Northwest Alaskan and PAG-US and PIT, and pursuant to Rate Schedules X-1, X-2, X-3 and X-4, which provide for Northwest Alaskan to file 45 days prior to the commencement of the next demand charge period (January 1, 1999 through June 30, 1999) the demand charges and demand charge adjustments which Northwest Alaskan will charge during the period. Northwest Alaskan states that a copy of this filing has been served on Northwest Alaskan's customers and interested state commissions. Any person desiring to be heard or to protest said filing should file a motion to intervene or a protest with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, 888 First Street, N.E., Washington, D.C. 20426, in accordance with sections 385.214 or 385.211 of the Commission's Rules and Regulations. All such motions or protests must be filed in accordance with Section 154.210 of the Commission's Regulations. Protests will be considered by the Commission in determining the appropriate action to be taken, but will not serve to make protestants parties to the proceedings.
