Reclamation to Host Meeting in Boise to Explain Proposed Revised Rule on Use of Reclamation Lands
The Bureau of Reclamation will host a meeting in Boise on Wednesday, August 20 to provide information on its proposed revised rule regarding public use of Reclamation lands, facilities, and waterbodies. The proposed rule will address how Reclamation will process requests for rights-of-use and exclusive use over the public land and facilities it manages.

The meeting will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the William F. Hayes Auditorium of the Boise Public Library, 715 South Capitol Blvd., Boise, Idaho. The meeting facilities are physically accessible to people with disabilities. Please direct requests for sign language interpretation for the hearing impaired, or other auxiliary aids, to Helene Tomaszewski at (208) 383-2217, as soon as possible prior to the meeting.

Reclamation is accepting comments from the public on the proposed revision to this rule (43 CFR Part 429), which was recently published in the Federal Register. However, the purpose of the meeting is only to provide information and answer questions.

Comments to be included in the official record must be submitted by mail to: Bureau of Reclamation, Attn: Richard Rizzi, Mail Code 84-53000, Denver Federal Center, PO Box 25007, Denver CO 80225-0007. Proposed revisions to this rule were first published in July 2007. Reclamation received many comments from the public and made extensive changes to the rule.

The new proposed revision to the rule may be viewed in the Federal Register or at the following Reclamation website: http://www.usbr.gov/newsroom/docs/PDF429.pdf.
