Medications for the management of heart failure include diuretics to reduce fluid buildup, ACE inhibitors to lower blood pressure, beta blockers to slow the heart rate, and Digoxin to help the heart beat stronger and pump more blood. For severe heart failure, patients may require additional oxygen, a mechanical heart pump, or transplantation.
