Household Travel Survey

OKI has partnered with the Ohio Department of Transportation and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to undertake a household travel survey.  This survey provides OKI with critical data regarding the movement of people throughout the region.

Households are surveyed in three steps:

  1. A short (about 10 minute) survey is taken over the phone or Internet to get details about people and households
  2. Survey participants ages 13 and older carry a GPS device for around three days, for survey participants 12 and younger, parents fill out a trip diary of where the child went during the travel survey days
  3. Some participants are asked some quick (about 5 minutes) follow-up questions

Sponsors are needed!

Community Cab is a taxicab voucher program that will enable disabled persons to utilize cab services at a discounted price through a participating social service agency. This program is funded in part by a federal New Freedom grant through OKI, but social service agency sponsors are needed to provide a local match for the program. Sponsors will provide 50 percent of the total cost of the vouchers, which will be sold in $25 booklets. The funds provided by the sponsors will be evenly matched with OKI’s funds from the federal New Freedom grant money.
