Statement of U.S. Labor Secretary Elaine L. Chao on June employment numbers
WASHINGTON — U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao issued the following statement on the June employment situation report released today:
"Today's report marks 46 consecutive months of job growth for a total of 8.2 million net new jobs created since August 2003. Our economy has produced nearly half a million net new jobs in the second quarter of 2007, providing momentum as we go into the third quarter."
