Principal author, Dr. Sue (Xiuwen) Dong, & contributing author, Dr. Janie Gittleman, will be discussing the use of DOL resources & cooperation of the BLS staff in the development of the recently released publication, The Construction Chart Book: The U.S. Construction Industry and Its Workers. The book has become a state-of-the-art reference on the construction industry for economic, employment, training, & safety and health information used by academics, attorneys, labor unions, workers, and industry professionals around the world.
Now in its fourth edition, the book is published by CPWR – The Center for Construction Research and Training, a nonprofit funded to conduct a broad spectrum of research on the causes & possible solutions to construction deaths, injuries and illnesses. CPWR research is funded by grants from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).
