State Public Records You may want to consider using Westlaw to locate state-related public records and filings about businesses or individuals. For example, you may need to find information about a potential witness or to determine whether or not an individual is licensed in a particular state. For the most cost-effective means of searching state-related public records and filings on Westlaw, search in one of these new databases: Public Records CombinedIndividual State (PUBRECS-XX) (where XX is the two-letter postal abbreviation for a state or the District of Columbia). Each database draws on up to 17 different sources of public records information, including
Content and coverage varies by database and by state. Please note that the scope of the PUBRECS-XX search, however, is limited to a single state. If you need to run a nationwide search, the Dossier Report Manager (DOSSIER), Person Profile Search (P-PROFILE), or the Company Records Scanner (CO-RECSCAN) may be more cost-effective. |
