Office of Policy Development and Research

The Office of Policy Development and Research (OPDR) supports the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) goal of informing workforce investment policies, recommending investments and supporting continuous improvement of the public workforce system. OPDR analyzes, formulates, and recommends legislative changes and options for policy initiatives and coordinates the development, publication, and implementation of new regulatory actions for ETA. OPDR provides ETA with strategic approaches to improve performance and outcomes through its research, demonstration and evaluation projects.

2008 U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION COMMUNITY COLLEGE RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM: CALL FOR PAPER PROPOSALS. (July 10, 2007) Synergy Enterprises Incorporated (SEI) and the Community College Research Center (CCRC) are issuing a call for commissioned paper proposals on behalf of the U.S Department of Education, Office of Vocational and Adult Education, for presentation at a planned June 2008 Research Symposium. The deadline for submitting proposals to author a commissioned paper is August 9, 2007, at 12:00 midnight EDT. Those interested in submitting a paper proposal (honorarium available) should click "Submit Papers" at the following site: http://www.sei2003.com/OVAE. Those interested in further details about the symposium should visit the same site and click on the other links (agenda, contact, etc.) which will become active over the ensuing weeks.
