Oregon Educators Benefit Board votes to accept a "benefit" plan year
The Oregon Educators Benefit Board voted today to accept a “benefit” plan year over a “calendar” plan year. What this means is that all of OEBB’s plans will provide members with benefits from October 1 through September 30 of each year.
- Deductibles will start on October 1 and will carry forward through September 30
- Maximum out-of-pocket amounts will start over on October 1 and run through September 30
- Benefit maximums will restart on October 1 and will carry through September 30
This decision allows OEBB to better serve members by streamlining the transition from current district plans to the new OEBB plans. Members won’t be required to provide documentation of benefit levels met through 2008 and it allows benefit maximums to be refreshed as of October 1.
