Sail Boats
Where to Register Your Boat
Where to Go to Get It Done
You don't need to come to the Salem office to register or renew. We encourage you to renew online  or by mail.

Trailers are registered through the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles and not the Marine Board.

We also have a partnership with many boat dealers and sporting good stores who provide exceptional customer service to boaters by serving as registration agents. There are nearly 125 businesses throughout the state that will accept applications and fees. Simply locate the agent closest to you and submit your information and fees to them. They will give you a temporary permit to operate your boat and forward your application and fees to the Marine Board. The agent will charge you up to $2.50 per transaction for this service.  The agent fee will increase every 3 years.

Bonded Boat Registration Agents
