Katz, Secretary Securities and Exchange Commission 450 Fifth Street NW, Washington, DC 20549-0609 Dear Secretary Katz: I am strongly in support of your proposal to require disclosure of proxy voting by mutual funds and investment advisers (File Numbers S7-36-02 and S7-38-02). I have a large percentage of my personal wealth invested in mutual funds. Mutual funds have made diversified investing easier for me, but they also have hidden some of the decisions and information I rely on to make my choices about when to buy and sell my individual stocks. I find it frustrating to not know how my ownership stake is being voted for companies held for me by mutual funds. Transparency and knowledge are the keys to making any capitalist system both safe and efficient. Thank you for your consideration of my comments, Barry Saxifrage Seattle, Washington
