We strongly support the proposal to require mutual funds to identify how
they vote in corporate proxies.  The welfare of the fund shareholders
depends on appropriate support for or opposition to proxy issues, yet the
funds may vote on the basis of business connections between the fund
organization and the corporation in which they have invested.

The proposal should be strengthened to require funds to explain why they are
so voting and all possible conflicts of interest.
