…a community calendar by and for Consumers of Liberty Resources, Inc. Liberty Lite is a monthly calendar of community events in Philadelphia. Rally in the Harrisburg State Capital for Mental Health, Mental Retardation, and Autism services and funding. Vision for Equality inc. is sponsoring a bus, which will leave from 718 Arch Street at 7 AM and return at 2:30 PM. For more information, call Sharon Fisher at (215) 923-3349, ext. 152.

May 8, 15 & 29:
Taste of Technology Days, 9 AM to 2:30 PM. Free information sessions that give an overview and tour of the Liberty Resources Academy as well as a career exploration to identify your transferable skills, if seeking employment. The Academy offers pre-vocational training, basic computer skills training, and other classes for Consumers eligible under CSPPPD. By appointment only; register by calling Louise at ext. 203.


May 8 & 22:

Mayor’s Commission on People with Disabilities, 1:30 to 3:30 PM, Municipal Services Building, 1401 JFK Blvd., 16th floor, Room Y. Call Robert at ext. 110.

ADAPT lunch, Noon until sold out. Roast beef and/or turkey sandwiches with macaroni salad and a can of juice or of bottle water, all for $6. Call German at ext.123.

May 19:
Primary Election Day, a grassroots election for local officials - where government begins in PA. Polls are open 7 AM to 8 PM.


May 22:
MTV (Mentoring, Transitioning, Voice) for consumers between the ages of 18 and 29, 1 to 3 PM, Bacal Room, First floor. If you are interested in working with high school students with disabilities to help them make a smooth transition from school life to adult life, please attend this orientation meeting. If you plan to attend, call Fran at ext. 225 or Conor at ext. 337.


June 3:
Durable Medical Equipment Made Easy! 2:30 - 4:00 PM. Do you have questions concerning medical equipment such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, augmentative communication devices, or repairs? Join the Disability Rights Network of Pennsylvania’s Attorney and Director of Assistive Technology for an interactive training session on getting durable medical equipment and repairs.
