Slip opinions certified for publication or ordered published in the Official Reports in the last 120 days are posted here. In general, only opinions certified for publication or ordered published may be cited or relied on by courts and parties. (See Cal. Rules of Court, rules 8.1105, 8.1110, 8.1115, and 8.1120.) Some opinions will become superseded during the 120 days they are posted on this page; superseded opinions may generally not be cited or relied on by courts or parties. (See rule 8.1115(a).) Use the icon for detailed case information to determine if an opinion is superseded. For some cases (e.g., those involving juveniles), detailed information may not be available and other sources must be consulted to determine if an opinion is superseded. After 120 days, click here for the Official Reports page.
Supreme Court opinions are posted immediately on filing. Court of Appeal opinions are routinely posted within a few hours of filing. Supreme Court opinions are normally filed at 10:00 a.m. on Mondays and Thursdays; Court of Appeal opinions may be filed at any time during the day. Each opinion is provided in Word (DOC) and Adobe Acrobat (PDF) formats.
Unpublished Court of Appeal opinions are available for a limited time after filing here.
