History
On September 1, 2006, the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) reorganized the delivery of technology and information resource management services in state government.  On that date, the Information Resource Management Division (IRMD) ceased to be a division of DAS, and the Enterprise Information Strategy and Policy Division (EISPD) was created. Go to the reorganization Web page for more information.

Programs

E-government Program
Oregon's Electronic Government (E-gov) Program helps state agencies move information, forms, and payment processes to the Internet.  Citizens and businesses can then get the government services and information they need, when they need them.  E-gov has established a reliable infrastructure for Internet services, and is now developing and delivering a variety of fee payment  and other web-based systems that support the needs of state agencies and their citizen customers. Internet tools make it easier for citizens and agencies to use the Internet to interact with each other, and allow business activities to occur after regular business hours.

Enterprise Business Continuity Planning
The Enterprise Business Continuity Planning (BCP) program ensures that in the event of an emergency state government remains stable, responsive and operational.  The Enterprise BCP program supports and guides state agencies as they jointly develop and communicate business continuity and disaster recovery plans.  Business continuity plans include the people and processes involved in getting agencies back to full operations in the event of a major incident.

Enterprise Security Office
The Enterprise Security Office (ESO) leads the effort to make sure that the state's computing and networking resources are kept safe and secure. ESO ensures that Oregon government protects citizen information.  ESO leads development of information resource policies that help agencies protect private or sensitive information from improper access or distribution.

Geospatial Enterprise Office
Led by of the Statewide GIS Coordinator, the Geospatial Enterprise Office (GEO) coordinates state agencies’ development and stewardship of geographic data. GEO supports statewide communication about Geographic Information Systems (GIS) issues, and helps develop Oregon's GIS data standards. GEO is the state's first point of contact for other agencies and organizations interested in Oregon’s geographic data or GIS systems.  GEO hosts the Oregon Geospatial Data Clearinghouse (a website that provides access to statewide geospatial data for the state of Oregon).

IT Investment and Planning
The Information Technology Investment and Planning (ITIP) Section leads statewide IT-related planning, budgeting, and policy development.  The ITIP Section:
  • Provides state leaders the information needed for IT-related decision-making;
  • Develops and implements state IT management strategies, rules, policies, standards and processes;
  • Is responsible for the state's IT portfolio and asset management programs;
  • Provides leadership for complex, government-wide IT initiatives;
  • Is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the state's major IT projects; and
  • Provides support to the State CIO and IT-related governance bodies.
