Medical, Dental and Basic Life Insurance
As a DAS employee your benefits package includes medical and dental insurance for you and your family. It also includes mandatory $5,000 life insurance coverage for you. These basic benefits are part of a cafeteria plan that meets IRS requirements, so they are paid with pre-tax dollars. The state provides a monthly benefit amount toward the cost of these benefits for full-time employees.

2008 Plan Year Benefits:
  • Employee: $788.14 monthly
  • Employee & Spouse/Domestic Partner: $1,061.12 monthly
  • Employee & Children: $907.60 monthly
  • Employee & Family: $1,084.98 monthly
If the total of your monthly medical, dental and basic life insurance premiums are higher than the monthly benefit amount, DAS will apply a premium subsidy to pay the balance in full.

Part-time employees receive partial payment of the monthly group plan premiums.
