Collins 307-261-7603 BLM Lifts Partial Fire RestrictionsEffective September 22, 2006, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has lifted partial fire restriction for BLM-administered lands in Natrona, Converse, Goshen, Platte, Campbell, Sheridan, and Johnson counties. The partial fire restriction includes the following items: - Building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire, campfire, barbecue or grill except in specific areas in authorized recreation sites.
- Smoking, except in an enclosed vehicle or building, a developed recreation site, or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren.
- Operating a chainsaw without a USDA or SAE approved spark arrester properly installed and in effective working order.
- Welding or operating acetylene or other torch with an open flame except in cleared areas of at least ten feet in diameter.
- Using any explosive requiring blasting caps.
The following year-round wildfire prevention restrictions are in place on all BLM-administered public lands in Wyoming: - Discharging or using any fireworks.
- Discharging a firearm using incendiary or tracer ammunition.
- Burning, igniting, or causing to burn any tire, wire, magnesium, or any other hazardous or explosive material.
- Operating any off-road vehicle on public lands unless the vehicle is equipped with a properly installed spark arrester.
